Birchbox | September Edition

Hello,
I've been with Birchbox since the start of January and I can't believe it's taken me this long to talk about it. Seeing as this is a special box as Birchbox are celebrating 5 years I thought I'd show you all what I received as I'm very happy with it's contents, although there is sometimes products which are my least favourite.

Before we start with the contents let me explain what Birchbox is. Well they are a beauty subscription service which are US based but now operates in a few countries such as UK, France, Spain, Canada and Belgium. They offer 3 subscription packages 3 months, 6 months and yearly or if you just want to buy that one monthly box it's £10 (plus P&P). Each month you will receive 5 deluxe beauty samples from a mixture of make up, skincare, fragrance or haircare sometimes full sized products.

My Birchbox includes

Laura Mercier Facial Polish (RRP £26) sample size

A brand that I'm kind of new too, but Birchbox are helping me discover new products like this one. This is a gentle exfoliator with micro beads which help buff away dead skin, I've used many exfoliators before but this one feels so nice on the skin, it's like rubbing really fine sand and that makes you feel like the product is actually doing something. My skin has definitely gotten better since using this as my chin has started to feel smooth.

John Masters Organics Citrus Neroli Detangler (RRP £16) sample size

A brand which if I'm honest I've never heard of but that's the beauty of these boxes - you get to try new things, so when I first read about this, I was so eager to try it out because If your anything like me, after I've wet my hair It's a very slow and painful procedure. I must spend about 5 - 8 minutes brushing all the knots out my hair, well not anymore since using this as a leave in conditioner my hair becomes so much easier to brush through - a favourite from this month's box, the smell is a nice citrus scent (clues in the name) and it doesn't leave my hair feeling greasy.

Laqa & Co Cheeky Lip Pencil in 'Cray Cray' (RRP £17) full size

A brand I've never tried before and haven't used really because I've moved on from corals and on to dark fall colours, but what I can say about it is it has a really creamy texture which is good for blending in the cheeks.

Beauty Protector Beauty Wash (RRP £8) sample size

This is a brand which got introduced to me by Birchbox and I've always loved what I've used. This is the most creamiest body wash I've ever used! and the smell of this is so pretty, was really impressed with this.

Benefit the POREfessional Licence To Blot (RRP £15.50) sample size

Benefit are one of my favourite brands and I know Birchbox are big lovers of this brand too so when I saw this little feature in my box I couldn't wait to try it out, now I'm not really an oily skin type but my chin and nose can be quite oily/shiny so I dab this under my make up and I see instant results, it does what it says and blots away oil leaving behind a matte finish and claims to last for 6 hours but I haven't had that so maybe I should try it on top of my make up to see if that makes a difference.

The Birchbrush (RRP £5.99) full size

I already own a Tangle Teezer and I do love it/how it helps in my hair routine but this combined with the John Masters Organics Citrus Neroli Detangler just works wonders on my hair, no more do I dread having to brush & dry my hair, I don't know if it's because it's time to get a new Tangle Teezer but I actually found this to be better.

So that's what was in my Birchbox this month, everyone's box will be different depending on there beauty profile you make. I was quite impressed with my contents but there are a few things that I wouldn't repurchase but I guess that's the whole point of this beauty subscription.

Another thing about Birchbox is they have an online shop of all the brands they work with, that you can buy full size products and each month you earn points which you spend in there shop.
