As someone who has long hair, everything mentioned in this post is suitable for all hair types but these are the things that I've been using alot recently. I'll be sharing with you how I manage my long ombre hair, which let me tell you, gets VERY tangled and can be a painful process to wash and brush but not anymore!
I wasn't sure whether to name this post, How I Manage My Ombre Hair but then I decided not to because it doesn't need to be limited like that as most people will benefit from these products and I use all of these regularly. My routine will change from time to time depending on how my hair becomes for example if it's more dry and damaged or I want it more shiny etc or if that product runs out i'll try out something new.
So the first thing I do before I'm about to wash my hair is to brush it through using my Tangle Teaser. Life before using one of these brushes made brushing my hair seem like an endless chore so If I brush my hair before I jump in the shower, it really helps when it comes to brushing it through in the drying process. Once my hair is wet I will lather it using the Dove Oxygen Moisture Shampoo & Conditioner I have the flat hair one because I love to use products that will give me volume, once I've rinsed off the shampoo and moved onto the conditioner, I like to leave this on for a few minutes and again brush through my hair. Dove haircare is by far one of my favourite hair brands out there along with TRESemme, it just leaves my hair so silky soft and shiny with the results of not washing it as much and not to mention the amazing smell it leaves behind.
As most of my hair has been dip dyed by half the length I always use a toner in my hair to help prevent it from fading and to give the blonde a bit of a boost. I've experimented with many different purple or silver shampoos as some of you may call it and this Pro:Voke Touch Of Silver I've really been loving, it's only a small bottle but has lasted months! I pour a fair amount into the palm of my hand and rub it all through the lengths but never on the scalp as i'm only focusing on the blonde areas. Your only suppose to use this twice a week as instructed, and the longer you leave it in the better the results will show, but I've never found it to make my hair purple or wash out my colour, I leave this on for roughly 2-4 minutes while I'll be shaving my legs (tmi?).
Once I'm out the shower I will start to towel dry my hair and then give it another brush through which just glides through with no painful luggy hair to tackle. Before blow drying my hair I pump 4 squirks of the TRESemme Split Remedy Sealing Serum and run it through the lengths to the tips to get rid of a few split ends that I get but this stuff works wonders at getting rid of split ends on the first use as it seals up 80% of split ends which you can notice the difference straight away, it's something that is never going to leave my hair routine as long as I have split ends. After the serum I spray my hair with a heat protection prepping my hair for the hair dryer, I've been using the TRESemme Heat Defence Styling Spray, now I've never noticed a difference in using heat protectors unless I stop using them and I see why I started using them as it makes my hair all dry and fly away and not as healthy looking so a must use whenever I'm going to be applying heat.
After about 10-15 minutes of drying my thick hair...I well give it a good brush through (again) and then rub in the Dove Pure Care Dry Oil Treatment to lock in moisture and shine, this is for all hair types and has African Macadamia Oil with a non greasy forumla and let me tell you, i'm very fussy with hair oils as I hate it when they make your hair look greasy but this does exactly what it says and it makes your hair smell AMAZING I've just fallen in love with this oil.
So that's it for my hair routine, I hope you give some of these products a try and let me know if you have any tips for dry and tangled hair?
