My Top 5 Autumn Lipsticks

Nothing scream's autumn like a berry lip and what's perfect about this is my most suited colours around this time of year, I mean don't get me wrong, I do love a nice natural lip from time to time but darker autumn shades is where i'm most comfortable. So here are my top 5 most wearable shades that I have been picking up recently, although I do have some new additions since taking these photos which I will be giving full reviews on soon.

This is my first ever Mac lipstick which was purchased last year from the satin collection. If you ever go into Mac and look at all the lipstick colours it can be very overwhelming and I didn't have a clue where to start. I wanted something quite natural to my lip colour but with a bit of a rosey/mauve look to it and this was my perfect shade for that. If you own a Mac lipstick you'll agree with me here on how easy to apply and comfortable they are to wear, but I do have to apply a little lip balm throughout the day as my lips get a little dry which doesn't look flattering on a matte lip. I like to wear this shade on a heavy eye makeup day as this is my autumn nude.

Kiko Lavish Lipstick 'Pretty Mauve' RRP £6.90

This is the best lipstick I've bought which has amazing quality for money in everything from packaging to texture. It's very creamy and matte but not too drying on the lips and long lasting as it survives through food and drink. I've written a full review on this which you can read here.

If I'm looking for something quick to throw on when I'm in a rush or running late for work, then I will reach for one of these lip crayons which are very moisturising as they are more of a tinted lip balm, so they don't wear for long but darker colours will leave behind a stain which lasts 1-2 hours and they are quite easy to touch up without a mirror.

This has been my favourite dark lip for a few years now as it was the first one I bought and boy has my collection grown. I love the pigmentation in kate's lipsticks and how long lasting they are but If you have dried lips, make sure you buff them away as this really shows up with this shade and does not look flattering, I do find this to be quite drying so I have to moisturise a lot, other than that it really is a great drugstore lipstick.

Ted Baker Lip Crayon 'Plum'

This was something I got in a christmas set last year, but there might be something similar this year. This is my darkest shade I own if I'm feeling a bit gothic, it glides on smoothly with a strong colour but can get a bit messy as it wipes off easily so I have to be careful with eating/drinking so I tend to use this on nights out. It has a matte texture but isn't drying on the lips and leaves behind a stain when it does wear away.

Left to Right: Faux, Pretty Mauve, Sweet Macchiato, 107, Plum
What's your favourite autumn lips? Do you go for darker tones around this time of year?
