L.A. Beach Cruiser

Ahhh, I can't believe time passes so fast, it's already in the middle of the holidays! The past two weeks were filled with blogging, homework, cheer practices and camp, and so far holidays have been great. There's only two more weeks left till I reluctantly go back to school and I plan to fill it with more amazing activities! The amount of homework teachers give nowadays is insane beyond insane, so besides having fun, clearing them has been one of the priorities this holidays. I plan to squeeze all my remaining assignments this week so that I can take the last week fully off and do all my favourite things like baking and watching movies! Of course, I make sure I have enough time for blogging and keeping my dear blog updated frequently.
---------------------------------------------------
While going through the amazing Visual Optimism, I spotted this utterly gorgeous editorial entitled "L.A. Beach Cruiser", with Ioanna Ntenti carrying a to-die-for white Chanel surfboard with the bold interlocking Cs! I can't describe how much I love and adore that surfboard, it's the perfect combination of surfer-chic and luxe. My Chanel-obsessed heart skipped a beat as I clicked on the editorial. And it was editorial love at first sight! Firstly, it was filled with my fave designer labels from the likes of Prada, Dior, Marc Jacobs, Fendi, Hermes, Gucci, Lanvin, Michael Kors, Louis Vuitton and of course, Chanel. Secondly, the styling of the deliciously colourful summer togs and the beautiful background gave me some major style inspiration. For those of you who are fans of Chiara Ferragni a.k.a. The Blonde Salad (like me!), you might notice that the second last picture looked a bit like her at this year's Coachella.

They're wearing the same shoes and sunglasses and their hair colour is almost the same! There's a quite big chance that Hilary Walsh, the one who's behind this work of sartorial art, is one of Chiara's fans too. But she's so amazing, who doesn't love her?

What do you think of this editorial? What do you think of the Chanel surfboard? What are your favourite designer labels? Are you a fan of The Blonde Salad? If not, who are your favourite mega-bloggers?

Weekend Inspiration #13 : High Heels, Bright Lights Kind Of Girl

I've always wanted to be glamorous when I grow up and live a glittery, star-studded life. I mean, who doesn't want that? To feel confident, fabulous and beautiful everyday......it's almost every girl's dream life. But since most of us are still studying and mooching in school, all we can do is dream. Hope your weekend was as fabulous as these pictures here!

Blogger Spotlight : Amy Martins

I'm sure all of you have heard about Vogue, but have you heard about Voguette? It's like a cross between Vogue and Smurfette from the Smurfs, but that's only in the name. Voguette is actually a blog curated by Amy Martins that revolves around fashion, art, décor, lifestyle and beauty and it's one blog you don't want to miss. Whether is it talking about her latest shoe crush or her love for the Great Gatsby, I always look forward to Voguette posts as they never fail to be filled with fresh, new ideas. No wonder that she has already built a loyal following of over 300+ in less than a year! But enough about the blog, let's move on to the blogger behind it. Amy, a fourteen-year-old who lives in Spain, describes herself as "an aspiring journalist and fashion lover with a thing for flowers, France and indie music" as well as loving "city lights, Paris and glamorous things". To her, a Voguette would buy Vogue instead of dinner.(I think I would buy both). Want to know more about Amy and her fabulous blog? Read on to find out more!
1.What's the story behind Voguette?
A Voguette is a woman brimming with elegance, chic, who doesn't follow any trends or imitate anybody. She's fashion-conscious, but she's also interested in beauty, art, décor... I felt like this name fit perfectly with the content of my blog, so that's why I chose it.

2. Why did you create Voguette?
I've always loved to write ever since I was a little girl, and I thought a blog would be a really fun way to share my passion for fashion (it rhymes!) with like-minded people, the only thing stopping me was my age - I believed nobody would actually care about what a teenager had to say about fashion. But on Christmas Day, I told myself 'why not?' and created Voguette. I quickly found out I loved blogging and I'm loving this experience!

3. What is your dream job?
My ambition is to become a fashion journalist and study Fashion Marketing and Communication after that; but my goal is to be able to create my own magazine.
4. How would you describe your sense of style?
I like to say it's pretty classic and comfortable, but with a modern edge; tailored blazers, shirts and jeans predominate in my wardrobe. But my style depends on how I'm feeling that day.

5. Where would your dream vacation be?
Anywhere tropical! Like Bali or the Seychelles.

6. Who inspires you?
It may sound corny, but my mum! She's such a strong woman and has worked a lot to achieve her dreams. Other people that inspire me are Audrey Hepburn or Grace Kelly.
x
7. What is your biggest achievement in 2012 and your biggest goal for 2013?
Biggest achievement of 2012... creating my blog, of course! And biggest goal for 2013 ? I'm not sure what yet, but we'll see; it has to be something that makes 2013 a year to remember!

8. Fave food/music?
I'm pretty healthy when it comes to food, but a salad is nothing compared to a good hamburger! As for music, I basically listen to everything - you can find me dancing around to Pitbull's latest single and then I could pretend I'm the director of an orchestra while listening to the Blue Danube. But my favourite gender has to be indie music.

9. Something special about your country?
In Spain we are really warm and outgoing, people usually start random conversations with you at the underground or as you are waiting in the line of the supermarket; and I've noticed that doesn't happen in many other European countries.
10. What are your hobbies?
My favourite hobby is obviously blogging! I also love reading, playing the piano and drawing.

11. What is the craziest thing you have done in the name of fashion?
Not sure... I'm not a person who follows trends just because everyone else does, if I don't like it, I don't wear it!

12. What would your dream home be?
As much as I love big houses with a garden full of trees, a pool from where you can admire the gorgeous views, my dream home would actually be a cute flat somewhere in London or Paris.
13. Your current beauty must-have?
I've recently purchased Dior Addict Lip Glow Reviver Balm, and it's amazing! It responds to the color chemistry of your own lips and creates your own unique shade of lipstick, it's completely worth buying it!

14. What advice do you have for fellow style bloggers around the world?
Really? Advice from me? Okay, I'm not sure what to say but I think a few vital things are: post as often as possible and always blog about what you are passionate about, keep your layout simple so the readers can focus on what's important, your posts and of course, always be yourself!

On another note, I'm would be going for a camp for the next couple of days and I would only be back and blogging on Saturday to post Weekend Inspiration #13. Apologies for not posting one last weekend, I was really busy with my holiday homework and my schedule was super full. Although I wouldn't be posting this Friday as I usually do, do check out the COSC official Instagram @thestylecookie for updates while I'm at camp! Other than that, I'll leave you with this post while I start packing for tomorrow.

What do you think of Amy's blog?

Obsession Du Jour : Vera Wang Parfums

While flipping through the July issue of Seventeen (I'm a faithful reader) on a balmy Sunday afternoon, I stopped short as an ad caught my eye. Three girls decked out in purple frocks of different shades from dark purple to lilac and chunky statement accessories, with their hair whipping in the wind. And there it was in bold sharp lettering : " Be Jeweled : Vera Wang " and suddenly it was like I've gone to parfum heaven.
I have always been a huge fan of Vera Wang perfumes, not only are the names super girly and beyond glamorous and luxe, it also never fails to make me sigh and dream about what it is like to live a fairytale, whether is it being a princess or being able to live in a super luxurious apartment in New York and being able to shop at say Barneys, Chanel or Tiffany's all day! "When it comes to fashion, you bow to no one. The kingdon you call your closet is the envy of the land. Face it : You were born to rule." Take the Vera Wang Princess for example, it's "Born To Rule" tagline makes me conjour a lifestyle of utter fabulous-ness (is there even such a word?).You get breakfast in bed, meals at exclusive restaurants, salespeople of luxe labels at your every beck and call, exotic vacations to places like St.Barts and Paris, a massive walk-in wardrobe of couture and Hermes Birkins, endless amounts of money to splurge on the latest It, I could go on forever. *Sigh*, who wouldn't want that? Even the bottle itself, with its purple tones and gold crown, looks like it's made for royalty.

And now the latest of her concoctions, the enchanting and flirtatious Vera Wang Be Jeweled captures "the energy and excitement of the perfect girls' night out" (as you can tell from the gorgeous ad) and Vera Wang believes that "each girl is a jewel in her own right, exuding confidence and charm". Isn't that the kind of girl everyone dreams of being, all chic, classy and glamorous? Eye-catching and gem-like in pink and purple tones, the bottle is inspired by Vera Wang's flamboyant design aesthetic and is perfect for any girl who loves fashion and is not afraid to dream. Note to self : Add Vera Wang Be Jeweled to wishlist.

What do you think of Vera Wang perfumes? Which one is your favourite? What do you think about the taglines? What is your favourite perfume(s)?

P.S. Reached 100 followers on Twitter today, thank you all for your support!

Seafolly Summer

As promised a few days ago, here is my second post on the gorgeous yet totally down-to-earth Behati Prinsloo! Previously on my blog, she was the muse of Free People's "Washed Ashore" catalogue featuring all things boho chic, but today I'm going to feature her latest gig as the new face of Seafolly's spring/summer campaign. As you may know (or may not know), Seafolly is renowned for catapulting rising models of the moment to fame, such as Miranda Kerr, Jessica Hart and Catherine McNeil. This season, the Aussie bikini-brand chose Behati Prinsloo to model their lush swimsuit campaign. But being the beauty that she is with her glowing skin and forever-bikini-ready body, it is no wonder that this is the second year in a row that she has modelled for the label. The S/S 2013 campaign is lensed by David Gubert and is located in hot and sunny Desert Springs, LA. Scroll down for some oh-so-fabulous tropical snaps!

Can anyone not be in love with this campaign? Everything in it is just 10/10 perfection! From the lighting to the beachwear to the background, it utterly oozes exotic tropical charm and it's pure summer eye candy! (Let me just pause to say that Behati looks a bit like Kate Moss in "Sail Away" from British Vogue's June issue. The eyeliner made her eyes stand out and it had the same attention-grabbing effect on Kate Moss, don't you think? ) Anyhow, I can't help but feel super envious of those people that get to tan and relax at the beach practically every day! I know Singapore is a tropical country and all, and plus it's summer, but lately the weather hasn't been the warm, sunny days I expected and it's rather gloomy, so I'm even more envious of those people that get a lot of sunshine nowadays. All I can do now is to dream that I'm Behati, posing in front of the camera, donning stunning Seafolly two-pieces and basking in the warm Los Angeles sun. Ahhh, can that feel any more amazing?

What do you think of this campaign? Do you think Behati looked a bit like Kate Moss? What's your favourite bikini-brand?
