Miuccia Prada. She's one of the most powerful women in fashion and just the word Prada is synonymous with classic, ladylike dressing with an edge. Collection after collection for both Prada and Miu Miu she produces unexpected cult favourites : the simple black backpack that became the It item of the 1990s, to the lipstick and postcard prints that was as famous as Schiaperelli's lobster-prints in the 2000s, banana prints in 2011 and countless other Prada signatures that has made Prada such a covetable fashion maison. My favourites however are the more recent Prada creations : the Prada Poeme sunglasses and the Miu Miu A/W 2013 polka-dotted coats. The Prada Poeme sunglasses : who knew florals did not have to be all soft and feminine? These square sunglasses gave a totally modern makeover to florals with the gorgeous 3D hand-painted fleurs and it gave us a new and très chic way to wear flowers on our heads. And Miu Miu's polka-dotted coats? Dressed in whimsical pastels,the polka dots gave a fresh breath of air to a season that was a sea of black, and it quickly became a favourite amongst photographers and fashion editors alike. And who could forget the Pink Lady editorial where Cara Delevingne donned the Miu Miu polka dotted jacquard coat?
