#FallFadFavourites

I cannot believe that New York Fashion Week is happening today! It seemed like just last week when Paris Haute Couture Week happened and fashion fantasies were materialised into elaborate, luxurious and exquisite haute couture. For me, Fashion Week is really amazing and eye-opening because there are always new and exciting collections to look forward to and gorgeous pieces to dream (and blog) about. September has just landed and as it is said in the American Vogue-inspired The September Issue, September is the January of fashion and it is when designers and magazines alike roll out the latest trends and fads of the new season. With the S/S 2014 season fast approaching, here are some of the most memorable trends of A/W 2013 that took the fashion world by storm. Scroll down and take your pick! #FallFadFavourites

1. Think Pink
If you have read my blog recently, you would know how in love I am with this colour. It's like the ultimate colour of femininity. From cerise to blush; fuchsia to delicate rose, labels such as Carven, Topshop Unique and Miu Miu have showcased this delicious shade for their A/W 2013 collections. Vogue has also given the shade a nod with one editorial entirely dedicated to the colour with none other than Cara Delevingne to star in it. Nothing can go wrong with Vogue, so take the cue and think pink.
2. Fur Feror
Rich, soft and lush : fur has always been a symbol of class, elegance and luxury. For Fall '13, fur has crossed over to cool territory, being worked into fun and youthful silhouettes and shades by designers from Fendi to Louis Viuitton, Elie Saab to Maxime Simoens. This trend is not new, being a constant favourite among the fashion elite (hello. Anna Wintour) for jazzing up and adding volume to any outfit. I mean, how many times have you seen models and notable names in fashion donning various fur coats during fashion week on street style blogs? With the colder seasons arriving, it's the perfect time to embrace this wonderfully glamorous trend.
3. White Out
With the year going into the colder seasons, when better to wear winter white than in the autumn/winter season! There's really something uber-stylish about donning white for the colder months. Winter white has made its mark on the A/W runway and from Dior's asymmetrical peplum to Elie Saab's structured pieces, nothing reads minimalistic chic with this simple and classic hue.
4. 50 Shades of Blue
Not only does blue have an incredible calming effect, it is also fast becoming one of fashion's favourite colours. Named as one of the "It" hues of the season alongside pink and gold by Vogue, it has splashed all over the runway from sensual midnight blue and playful Tiffany-esque robin egg blue, to gorgeous azure and delicate light blue. These shades have cascaded down the catwalks of Valentino, Prada, Missoni and Carven, giving the pieces and the new season a cool and fresh vibe.

5. All Blown Up
Previously it was the humble coat that made all the difference to an outfit, but now it has been magnified all over the runways in rich, lush materials. Supersized and ready to go, these stunners have turned up in so many different forms! From structured to draped to just downright baggy, expect covetable larger-than-life robes from designers like Michael Kors, Dior, Hermes and Stella McCartney.
6. Go For Bold
Designers always use their collections to express their wildest dreams and Fall 2013 was nothing short of loud and bold details . Whether is it Alexander McQueen's gilded cages and elaborate white-and-gold pieces, Lanvin's insect appliqués and playful embossed accessories, or is it Chanel's luxurious tweed and shiny silver globes, the details instead of the main looks were the show-stoppers that grabbed the most eyeballs.
7. Feline Fête
Don't throw out that leopard print coat just yet! For the A/W 2013 season, designers from the likes of DKNY, Giambattista Valli and Moschino Cheap & Chic have revived the print and officially un-tackified it. Splashed across from waist to calf length coats, the print has also taken on a larger and bolder form and with colourful prints to go with. Cool and modern, this is a feline fête at its best.
8. Sheer Delight
Move over plunging necklines (well, Kate Moss can keep them), sheer fabrics have become the new way to show some skin in the classy, fuss-free way. Nip slips are always the cause of concern with plunging necklines and once the V gets a tad too low, it immediately becomes trashy. But with sheer, it's always in sensual territory. Its playful yet tasteful peekaboo quality have caught the eyes of both Hedi Slimane (Saint Laurent) and Marc Jacobs (Louis Vuitton), cementing it as one of the biggest trends of A/W 2013.

Hope you liked them!

Which trend is your favourite? Which one would you be wearing in the new season?
