For the love of skorts. When I spotted this skort on Christine Centenera ( the uber-glam senior fashion editor at Vogue Australia), I can't tell you how in love I was. To me, it had everything that made up a statement piece : comfort, style and a sort of edgy-glam that is rarely seen in high-street labels nowadays. Thanks to Zara, the skort has been re-invented into a super posh, super chic and super safe (it won't accidentally blow up when the wind blows) version that does the "business in the front, party at the back" with panache. It's assymetrical envelope-like folds gives it the tailored, polished quality of a skirt, yet it has the comfort and versatility of shorts. Worn by almost everyone who is anyone - Karolina Kurkova, Rumi Neely, Chiara Ferragni ,Olivia Palermo, Aimee Song you name it, the skort is definitely the It item of the season. Even Raf Simons gave the skort the Dior touch for Spring 2014 and sent Daria Strokous down the runway to open the show. Whether you dress it up into a look worthy of a feature in Vogue, or you dress it down into a street-cool look with sneakers and a sweater, the styling possibilities are endless. So grab your skort now, or you don't make the cut for Spring 2014.
