What I Got For Christmas 2015

Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas, I know I did and a little break from work/blogging has been nice too, but I think it's time to stop slacking and show you all what I got for Christmas as once again I have been a very lucky girl. You can see my post from last year here. Before I start I'd like to point out that I am not posting this to brag or show off but I know some people enjoy seeing what other people got for Christmas and I'm so grateful for everything I've received off my family and Sam this year.

So I thought it would be best to split my presents up into categories. Entertainment, I got two guitar tab books from two of my favourite bands Oasis and Radiohead along with a new set of Ernie Ball guitar strings because my guitar has needed to be re strung for a long time now and it sounds so much better. A set of limited edition signed Oasis plectrums to go along with the guitar theme which I have going on here and two cds, Coldplay Head Full Of Dream and Bring Me The Horizon That's The Spirit with Michael McIntyre Happy & Glorious DVD. I also got a Back To The Future Monopoly board which I forgot to photograph.

Beauty,  I got a lovely Origins skincare set, a Fudge silver shampoo & conditioner duo set and a Dove shower gel set from my sister which I can't wait to use. two Lush boxes, one with products that help with dry skin and another with some of the Christmas range. The Ted Baker make up set which was so unexpected from my mum and dad but I'm so happy I got one as I received one last year which you can read about here. Two perfumes Juicy Couture Viva La Juicy which I've had for the past two years as it's one of my favourite scents and a new perfume by Ariana Grande which I asked for when I discovered this in Boots as it has a sweet scent which is what I go for.

Clothing, I got two pairs of animal themed slippers from Next. A few pair of pyjamas like I do every year, a nice frilly black handbag and a few shirts which are for work and casual. I also got a few socks and pants which I haven't included here and a scarf.

Home, I got a few bedroom bits this year and a lot of owl related things as you can see, some owl mattress sheets, owl candle holders, owl jewellery hooks and a little owl ornament. Two picture frames one is more of a personal thing, as my favourite band is Keane and in my room I have loads of posters on my wall but they will sadly be coming down soon, so to still have something Keane related Sam got me this Hopes And Fears typography piece which was a very thoughtful gift. I also got a red Woodwick candle which I forgot to photograph.

Saving the best till last for my main presents Sam got me a Fitbit Charge HR bracelet which I was so surprised as I thought I wasn't getting one until my birthday next month and I love it, can't wait to try it out on my next Zumba class. I was very lucky and got a Canon EOS 750D camera which I tried before I buyed and fell in love with it, it has a LCD touch screen with a vari angle which was what I specified and it's just the best present ever I'm so grateful and can't believe how much Sam has spoilt me this year.

I also got lots of chocolate and other bits and bobs which I haven't included

Did you have a good Christmas? What lovely things did you get this year?

Lush Christmas Favourites

I haven't tried everything in the Christmas Lush range this year but these have been a few favourites which I have been repurchasing over the weeks into Christmas.

Snow Fairy Shower Gel
This seems to be a bestseller for Lush every year so I thought I would give this a try as I thought the colour looked quite pretty and girly, the smell of this has a strong sweet candy floss smell as it lathers up into foam.

Rose Jam Shower Gel
This is a new product to this year's range as a 'Hot Teddy' replacement I think and I quite like it, the scent is a roses with a hint of sweetness. I can't quite decide which one is my favourite out of the two as I've been taking them in turns.

Bar Humbug Bubble Bar

I love bubble bars, every one I've tried is just amazing and I particularly like this one the most because it makes my bath water purple which really lightens my mood. These bubble bars are so foamy and work much better than cheap bubble foam liquid as the bubbles last alot longer in my opinion.

Candy Mountain Bubble Bar

This bubble bar goes great with Snow Fairy as it will leave your bath water a nice light pink colour which smells very simular to the shower gel. I have gotten a lot of uses out of this which manys it worth the money and only a little goes a long way.

Santa Lip Scrub

For a long time I've needed to a lip scrub and with all my dark matte lipsticks making a scene I thought I'd try out the newest lip scrub Lush has to offer. It's basically sugar but it tastes of cola bottles and has little dissolvable love hearts in.

Luxury Lush Pud Bath Bomb

This is such a magical bath bomb to use around this time of year as it's like a disco ball exploding in your bath with the mixture of rainbow colours swirling together. I've been loving using this on my pamper days as it makes my skin feel nice and the lavender scent makes it so relaxing.

I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas and I'll be back with some posts to round up the end of 2015 which I have planned.

Christmas Reds

Top to Bottom: Bourjois, Ted Baker, L'Oreal
Whenever I think of Christmas the colour Red springs to mind so I wanted to do a Christmassy post full of Red beauty picks for those Christmas parties you may have coming up or if you just want to rock a red lip for the hell of it.

Closer to christmas I always get out my red nail varnishes and lippies out although these can be worn all year round which I do do, they tend to be very popular this month so I've picked out my favourites.

For the lips Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet in the shade 08 Grand Cru a blue toned red is a liquid lipstick which feels so smooth to apply as it's lightweight and it appears lighter than it looks in the tube on the lips, it lasts for a very long time with no smudge so it's great for meals and nights out.

Ted Baker 'Red' sorry it has no name is a matte lipstick, blue toned is another favourite which I use when I go out. I'm afraid you can only get this from boots Christmas gift sets but it's a great all rounder and perfect for the Christmas season.

L'Oreal Color Riche '461 Scarlett Creme' is more pigmented than my TB lipstick but similar in colour as it is again a blue toned red. I find these suit my skin colour best but they are for everyone - If anyone knows any orange toned reds then let me know as I would like to try a brighter red.

To help prep my lips for all these lipsticks I've been using this Lush Santa Lip Scrub to buff away dead skin and the best thing about this is how it tastes of coke a cola.

For my nails I've picked a mixture of Reds, the first one being a recent purchase which is Models Own Scarlet Sparkle a gorgeous glittery red, next is a red which I got from my Body Shop advent calendar last year which is a dark red in the shade 120 Relish The Moment and the brightest red is from a previous Birchbox from a french brand Reverence De Bastien in the shade No 4 which will look great in summer too!

What's your festive reds? Let me know your favourites

My Christmas Traditions

It's exactly 12 days untill Christmas which means things finally start to get a bit more festive in our household as our tradition is to put up the Christmas tree 12 days before, I've already made my bedroom all festive with Christmas scents and bedding which you all can have a nosey in a post I have planned.

Our family Christmas Eve tradition might make some readers feel stressed as me, my sister and dad all head into Derby wearing our Christmas jumpers to make a start on shopping for my mum's Christmas presents I can already hear you all calling us crazy!? Me and my sister go to help my dad because he needs a woman's opinion not to buy as we are organised and have bought ours weeks before. The reason why he likes to shop a day before is because he loves the rush, if he does have a main present in mind he will buy this days before as he knows not to leave that so last minute. You'd be surprised how busy it is and full of men in the same situation.

One thing we always do for a laugh is try and find the most hideous pair of slippers and give them my mum, she obviously hates them but still wears them. Does anybody else get joke presents for their family? Once the shopping is over we then go home to start wrapping them and prepare the stocking for Christmas morning.

Around 6-7pm we will all settled down with a newly opened quality street tin watching The Muppets Christmas Carol or we will go to our local pub for a few drinks and wish everyone a Merry Christmas before heading home to bed. I never like to stay up any later than 12.

For Christmas day we all start the morning off by opening our stockings that's hanging up outside our bedroom doors and open them in bed, for anyone reading this who doesn't have a stocking you are seriously missing out as I get the best bits and bobs such as hair accessories, jewellry, chocolate, and orange, car air freshener, make up, socks etc. My sister will then come in my room and we will compare things that we got and then go into my parents room to see what they got. My dog Diesel even gets his own little stocking!

Once we are all up we will make our cuppas and make our way to the Christmas Tree. We stick on our Christmas CD and someone will volunteer to be 'the present giver' and we will get stuck in opening them one at a time because this way we get to see who got what and it makes the morning last. Afterwards we will phone our family members to thank them for our lovely gifts and to be nosey at what they got. When all the Thank You's are exchanged we all get dressed into our new Christmas clothes ready for our big feast.
