Five Things People Who Wear Glasses Experience
You can't buy sunglasses - How I would love to just go into any fashion shop, try on some sunglasses and happily purchase them, or even wear them on top of my head but I can't because one. I can't wear sunglasses over my glasses or without because then I can't see. two. I would just look weird wearing glasses and having a pair on top of my head too.
You can't lie in bed wearing them - I love to sleep on my side but this isn't a problem as I don't sleep with my glasses on but If I'm reading a book, watching tv or playing on my phone. I am then putting my glasses at risk in bending the frames and making the side of my face very uncomfortable.
Everyone wants to try them on - Have you ever been asked 'Can I try your glasses on?' I'm sure you have? I don't mind people trying them on but when they make the comments like 'omg how can you see through these' and 'how many fingers am I holding up' It just gets annoying. I'm a lot more protective over my glasses since starting to pay for my designer glasses myself.
Constantly cleaning your lenses - I'm sure this isn't just me but I feel like my glasses are just constantly being cleaned. I do love it though when you have just cleaned them and you're like a whole new worlddd everything is so clear and for girls don't you just hate it when mascara from your lashes make an appearance.
Temperature changes affecting your vision - This is the perfect season for this example, your glasses steaming up from being in the cold rain to entering a warm heated building and then when this happens you feel like you need to make the statement 'oh my glasses have steamed up' as you're wiping them.
Does anybody agree with me on this? can you think of more examples? I'd love to hear more
Benefits New Brows Range Experience
Benefit are back with a big release on the 24th of June with the on trend new brow products and as always I'm so excited to be able to buy them soon! With the new packaging on some existing products whilst adding in some completely brand new ones how can you not look at them and not want to go running to your nearest Benefit counter and get the girls to give you amazing brows we all wish for. They literally have everything for your brow dilemma's in this range which I love and even a lighter shade for you blonde's.
I had the privilege in trying out some of these products before the release date as I got invited by the Benebabe Jo from the John Lewis counter, this was such a treat.
Firstly we used the product Browvo! Conditioning Primer before adding on any products, this comes in a tube with a soft touch applicator which you brush through your brow hair. If you have sparse brows then this is for you as it helps to re grow, giving you fuller brows. This was used to tame my hair and keep it in place as it comes out in a clear gel.
We went for two brows looks, one being a natural everyday which I can wear for work and then another more defined strong brow perfect for nights out. I've never seen my brows like this so I was interested in the results.
For the more natural looking brows Precisely, My Brow Pencil in shade 3 was applied, this ultra thin pencil creates hair stroke lines to help shape and fill in my brows. One of my favourites from the range and I will be purchasing as soon as the 24th June rolls around. To set it all in 3D Brow Tones was brushed through as this is a gel which creates subtle highlights in my darker hair, I'd say this is great for people with thicker hairy brows to show more results.
Elle Magazine this month are featuring a sample of this Goof Brow Pencil in different shades along with a free Benefit Brow Wax, if you wanted to get your hands on a sample while you still can. This is great for both natural looking or bolder brows. I got this in shade 2 which is slightly too light for me, I can still make it work with adding brow gel on top though. It has a slanted tip to give you the option of shaping with the thinner side and filling in with the thicker tip, while I have been enjoying using this I don't think I will be rushing to purchase this just yet once it's released as I prefer the Precisely, My Brows Pencil.
For the more bolder brows Ka-Brow cream-gel colour was applied in shade 2. I must mention that with this product, strangely the colours come out darker so whereas I am normally a shade 3, a shade 2 was the perfect match for me in this but there is a shade 1 available which is new. I love the design of this product as you can flip the brush around into the cap for a better grip and easily dip and apply the hard slanted brush to make your brows defined, you can layer this as much as you like until you're happy with the look. As I've said before I have never used a brow pomade so this took me a while to get used to the look and I love the look of the sharp defined lines you can get with this so I will also be purchasing this too.
I was given this Gimme Brows sample to take home with me as this isn't a new product and by now most people who love Benefit would've heard/used this, but for those who haven't this is a tinted brow gel which can be used on its own to fill in your brows or on top of products to keep everything in place. What I love about this brow gel compared to most cheaper alternatives is the brush size, this makes a massive difference as it needs to be small to really get into those hair fibres without it getting all messy outside the brow, which happens to me a lot with other brush wands.
Of course you can't go to a Benefit counter without getting a full Benefit makeover. Here is the finished look with my Ka-brows, Hoola bronzer, Dandelion blusher, They're Real purple eyeliner and black mascara, Neutrals Eyeshadow Palette, Shy Beam & Watt's Up highlighter, Erase Paste under eye concealer, Hello Flawless foundation & powder.
Thank you to Jo from the Benefit counter for a wonderful experience and I can't wait to go brow shopping next week!

Hairven Salon Launch Party & My Experience
In May I had been invited to a Launch Party for the opening of a new hair & beauty salon in Beeston, Nottingham as part of them extending their branch as they originally opened in Gedling, Nottingham. I've never been to anything like this before which was exciting as when we arrived there was a red carpet and a lady who greeted us for the guest list, which was all very fancy.

I went with Sherry from Sherry Scribbles, who is a Food, Beauty & Lifestyle blogger. We then received a welcome pack which came with brochures and leaflets all about Hairven and a few samples from products that's in the salon. There was music playing with coloured mood lights all around the room which made it feel like you was in a club with loads of people dressed up and chatting. I was offered a beverage and then walked around taking photos until we came across a photo booth which was so much fun as you could choose props and be silly.
This salon has a good reputation and has won many amazing awards such as 'The English Hair & Beauty Awards 2013' and even named 'Best Salon' in Glamour magazine, if that's not impressed you then let me tell you about the pricing, it may look all luxurious and you're probably thinking how much will it cost to get my hair cut here? Well for a dry cut it cost £19 and I pay that from my local salon so it makes no difference to me but they currently have a 25% opening offer from Mon - Thurs.
I got myself booked in for a facial and hair colouring because my dye needed sorting out as it was getting bad and I was impressed with their work as they always post stuff on social media. I needed high standards like salons in London but local and they nail that.
I met a lovely lady called Becci, who made me feel really welcome and explained everything she was going to be doing in the facial and then asked me my skin type dry. I then got comfy on this bed under a towel making sure my shoulders were shown and she began the facial. We did a sniff test on some oils which I had to pick out the strongest scent as this is what my body needed. I chose an oil which helped hydration so that worked out well for me. I was then put under a UV light which highlighted areas of my problemed skin, she made me aware that I had some dry areas, some blackhead around my nose and a bit of sun damage, basically pointed out all of my flaws I'm joking I was interested to know, but I have fair skin so this wasn't a problem, the main problem is my dry skin. This helped make sure she was using the right products as I then had been exfoliated and moisturised with a message. After this lovely facial I was then served a Strawberry Mocktail and headed downstairs ready to get my hair done by the Angel Amy.
I've had Ombre/Dip Dye hair for a few years now and I like to get it re done once a year maybe less as it starts to get in a bad way and most of it's grown out. So this year I wanted to give Balayage a try, this is very simular to ombre but with more highlights to blend it in. I want to get rid of the straight hair to hair dye line that I had which didn't have any blending whatsoever. We went through on how I wanted my look exactly before she started and on the blonde colouring, I asked for white/ashy blonde. After many minutes of the waiting process I was all washed, blow dryed and styled.
Ta-dah!! I couldn't be happier with the results as the blending is just how I wanted it and I love the colour. it's the best feeling walking out of a salon feeling really happy and that's what I did. It was worth every penny so thank you to Hairven for making my locks look gorgeous.
