My Thoughts On Kiehls Sample Bag

Kiehl's Skincare Review

Kiehl's Skincare Review
As promised I'm here to talk you through my thoughts on how I got on with my samples from Kiehl's and there are some that I really loved and others which didn't impress me as much as I'd hoped.

Let me begin with the Olive Fruit Oil Nourishing Shampoo & Conditioner, you get a generous amount for a sample so I was able to try this for quite a while to make my decision. When I first started using this I didn't really notice anything special about it, just an average shampoo & conditioner but the more I used it, after drying my hair always using heat protection. I noticed this stuff was actually drying my hair out which is the opposite to 'nourishing' so I won't be purchasing this any time soon as I feel more affordable brands such as my beloved TRESemmé hair care does a brilliant job for less the price.

Powerful Strength Line-Reducing is a serum to help reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and contains a treatment with 10.5% Vitamin C which is great for the skin, I apply this day and night before my moisturiser. Once you apply this some people feel a warm tingling sensation which is normal. I did enjoyed using this but when I went to my skin consultation at Kiehl's the lady told me because of my age all I need right now for my skin is hydration as I do have dry skin so this isn't something I will be purchasing any time soon so I went and bought the Hydro Plumping Re Texturizing serum instead.

On to my favourite samples out of the whole set is the Ultra Facial Cream - WOW! I've fallen in love with this moisturizer, this really kept my face hydrated all day, it's not thick or greasy and has a light fragrance, a little goes a long way with this cream so the sample lasted me some time which I was happy about because I enjoyed using it so much. My skin feels so soft after I apply this, definitely something I'm going to look into again when winter comes. The Midnight Recovery Concentrate is an overnight oil which smells like lavender one of my favourite smells, this helps to keep skin looking younger by locking in moisture. This is the first time I've used oils as I wasn't really sure how to use them but I now love them! If i'm honest I don't think the sample packaging is very good at distributing the oil onto your hands as it can become very wasteful and I had to be very careful in sorting this in an upright position in case it fell over and all leaked out but other than that I really enjoyed using this oil. I liked to use this on it's own or under my night moisturizer which helped give me a moisture boost.

What's your favourite product from Kiehl's? Have you tried this brand before?

An Evening at Kiehls Nottingham

Kiehl's has always been one of those brands that I've seen everywhere but haven't got round to trying yet. So many bloggers would of heard of them for sure because there Midnight Recovery Concentrate is everywhere!

If you are new to the brand then let me give you a brief introduction. Kiehl's are founded in NY, 1851 and are known for selling products for skin care which contains natural ingredients & free from animal testing. They don't pay for any advertising or celebrity appearances to boost their sales and don't pay for high end packaging as they would rather make the product worth the investment. Before any release they really take there time into testing and research until they are satisfied with the end product.

When the lovely Hannah asked if I wanted to attend a bloggers event in the Kiehl's Nottingham store which she had planned I couldn't of been more excited as this was my chance to say hello to some local bloggers and be properly introduced to the Kiehl's brand. When I arrived I was greeted by the lovely staff who made me feel instantly welcomed as I was offered a drink and a snack don't worry it was only juice, can't go crazy for a sunday before things got started. I was feeling a bit nervous as this is all new to me being my first event and all so to break the ice we all went round and introduced ourselves.

To begin the evening we were introduced to the new releases at Kiehl's, the Turmeric & Cranberry Seed Energizing Radiance Masque & Cilantro & Orange Extract Pollutant Defending Masque both at £28 which let me tell you, you are all in for a treat as having only sampled these on the back of my hand I've fallen in love. The turmeric & cranberry seed energizing radiance masque is an instant facial to brighten dull tired looking skin by evening skin tone and gently exfoliating which is an alternative to microbeads which are now banned, cranberry seeds are less harsh to the skin. This is more effective to use in the mornings 2-3 times a week by applying a thin layer to soak in for 10 mins and then removing with warm water. The cilantro & orange extract pollutant defending masque is aimed to minimise the effects from pollution damage to the skin which everyone goes through everyday. This is more effective to use at night by using 2-3 times a week, applying a thin layer to soak in for 5 mins and rising away with warm water, this then creates a thin layer on the skin which works overnight. I love both of them but my favourite one from first impression has got to be the cilantro & orange extract pollutant defending masque the smell is so refreshing and clean, spa like even.

A handful of some best selling products were then passed around sampling them all on the back on my hand including the Midnight Recovery Concentrate which is a lavender scented overnight oil. When I heard/smelt lavender I knew I would instantly love this because lately I'm obsessed with relaxing oils that help me sleep. Powerful Strength Line Reducing Concentrate which is a powerful anti wrinkle serum with 10.5% vitamin c. Creme de Corps which a hydrating body cream or butter and smells amazing, if you love the smell of coconut and honey then you will love this and it was so hydrating on the back of my hand. Ultra Light Daily Defence SPF 50 is a sun protection for your face with the highest SPF 50 you can get like us pale girl's didn't know this already. SPF is so important to be apart of your skincare so make sure you don't miss out on this step but from sampling this it is very light, non greasy and can been worn under your make up, this also isn't waterproof so you would have to reapply if you went swimming. Ultra Facial Cream is a 24hr moisturiser day cream, as a dry skin girl this immediately screamed my attention as I'm always looking for ways to tackle my dry skin, this is not greasy at all and doesn't take too long to sink into the skin which helps for busy mornings, it was also mentioned a lot of make up artists swear by this stuff.

Afterwards we all got ourselves booked into get our skin consultations, these are one to one to make it personally tailored to our skin needs. I have mine booked in April and I can't wait, I can already feel I'm going to be a Kiehl's convert roll on them paydays.

We all then did a bit of browsing around the shop, chatted to each other and left with a goodie bag which was very kind. This included samples of the Midnight Recovery Concentrate, Powerful Strength Line Reducing Concentrate, Ultra Facial Cream, Olive Fruit Oil Nourishing Shampoo & Conditioner.
